Successful weekend at Macau

Borusan Automotive Motorsports has finalized the FIA WTC Championship at streets of Macau. In its first season, the team finished 5th overall which is a great success for a newcomer.

The heavy damage on the car at the penultimate round of the championship in Japan, caused a major change on team’s schedule. New BMW 320 has been prepared by the team just in 3 days and sent to Macau.

The race was held on the streets of Macau and after a successful test session on Thursday, the driver Ibrahim Okyay was ready for Seeding laps on friday.
But unfortunately, he slid and hit the backside of his BMW. Toksport mechanics and engineers have worked so hard to boost again at the starting grid and they succeeded.

Despite this unfortunate incident, Okyay was 8th at the seeding laps and was in front of his rival Romanov.Borusan Automotive Motorsports driver Okyay, finished the first race 4th at Independents and 18th overall, on Sunday.

There were 30 competitors on the race track and on the 2nd race Okyay finished 4th at independents and 10th overall. The final round of the championship was a great success for the team and with the points collected on this weekend, the team wrapped the season up 5th overall. Okyay has finished the season 6th on independents class.
