Toksport WRT driver Luca Stolz and Maro Engel did their debut race at Zandvoort for ADAC GT Masters and completed the race in P5. It was a promising start in the ADAC GT Masters at the weekend. Maro Engel and Luca Stolz were fourth in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 until shortly after the middle of Saturday’s race when they were forced to retire with a faulty steering pump seal. Engel and Stolz finished fifth in the second round. “That was a very good first showing in this high-class series,” said Engel. “It could have gone even better had we been luckier in qualifying and been able to start further up the grid.” Team-mate Luca Stolz feels very confident about the upcoming weekend at the Nürburgring: “Our aim now is to finish on the podium!”
Toksport WRT, Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Benelux drivers Ayhancan Guven and Umit Ulku had an unlucky weekend in Zandvoort. Umit Ulku was first among B graded drivers and got the 6th position in the first qualifying session. With the start of race 1, Ayhancan had a crash and he had to retire due to mechanical problems at his car. In the second race, he had a good pace and finished the race third and hold the trophy on podium. In the technical control after the race, a 1 mm difference in the camber shim on the left front side has caused Ayhancan Guven to get a 5 position penalty and he finished the race eight overall. In the second race, Umit Ulku had a spin and ended in gravel trap. He couldn’t get his car back to track and retired. Next race of Porsche Cup will be held in the legendary 24h Le Mans circuit at 17 th of June.
