Toksport WRT has dominated the final round of Turkish Circuit Championship in Izmir with 7 cars. The team has raced with 3 Seat Leon TCR’s in the super group and 4 cars (1 Nissan GT-R GT3, 1 Porsche 991 GT3 Cup Gen II and 2 Porsche 991 GT3 Cup Gen I) in Maxi Group.
Umit Ulku became the Turkish Circuit Champion in Maxi Group with Nissan GT-R GT3 and celebrated his 10th crown. Toksport WRT Rally driver Orhan Avcioglu raced this weekend in Porsche 991 GT3 Cup car and finished second in the first race and returned home with good memories from his first circuit race. Despite having an offtrack in the first race, Berkay Besler managed to finish 3rd overall in Porsche 991 GT3 Cup Gen II. Caglayan Celik won the first race in Super Group with Seat Leon TCR and became third in the second race. Turgut Konukoglu also had a very good pace and he managed to complete both races in Super Group on the podium as second with Seat Leon TCR.
By the end of the race Toksport WRT has completed it’s 2017 season and already started to get prepared for 2018.
Toksport WRT raced in Turkish Circuit Championship at Korfez race track with 3 cars this weekend.
Umit Ulku won both races at Maxi Group in Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 and kept leading the Maxi group. He also improved his own track record and broke the record with a lap time of 41.757 seconds.
Caglayan Celik won first time in Seat Leon TCR and beat his opponents in the second race with a successful driving.
Galip Atar finished both races in third place in Seat Leon TCR and he is following the leader by one point at Super group.
Second round of Turkish Circuit Championship took place at Serres Circuit. Umit Ulkü in his Nissan GT-R GT3 set the lap record of 1.14.904. He was first in the grid for qualifying session and won both of the races. Caglayan Celik drove his Seat Leon TCR for the first time and he scored third position for the first race and second position for the second race.
Toksport WRT, Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Benelux drivers Ayhancan Guven and Umit Ulku had an unlucky weekend in Zandvoort. Ayhancan Guven had the third position in the first qualifying session and the second position in the second qualifying session. Umit Ulku was first among B graded drivers and got the 6th position in the first qualifying session. With the start of race 1, Ayhancan had a crash and he had to retire due to mechanical problems at his car. In the second race, he had a good pace and finished the race third and hold the trophy on podium. In the technical control after the race, a 1 mm difference in the camber shim on the left front side has caused Ayhancan Guven to get a 5 position penalty and he finished the race eight overall. In the second race, Umit Ulku had a spin and ended in gravel trap. He couldn’t get his car back to track and retired. Next race of Porsche Cup will be held in the legendary 24h Le Mans circuit at 17 th of June.
The opening round of Porsche Carrera Cup France / Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Benelux has been completed. Ayhancan Guven and Umit Ulku had a smooth weekend in their first race. Ayhancan Guven completed the first race 4th in Benelux and 10th in France Category and 13th in overall. In the second race Ayhancan climbed to the podium in Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Benelux and lift the trophy as third.
TOKSPORT WRT successfully completed the second round of Porsche Sports Cup with its Turkish drivers which were held in Redbull Ring Circuit in Austria.
In his maiden race in Redbull Ring, Ayhancan Güven has achieved strong lap times in both practice and qualification sessions. The other TOKSPORT WRT drivers Ümit Ülkü ve Bilal Saygılı has improved their lap times in each session during the weekend. All three drivers has finished the endurance race in their highly competitive Porsche 991 GT3 cars. Ayhancan Güven finished eight in his class, Ümit Ülkü and Bilal Saygılı finished eleventh and seventeenth respectively in their classes. 18 year old Ayhancan Güven has impressed public with his lap times in his maiden race in a Porsche in Bilal Saygılı . Güven is aiming for podium results in the coming races after getting more use to his car.
