After a higly competitive first day in Qatar, Khalid Al-Suwaidi and his co-driver Marshall Clarke ended the second day in huge disappointment with an accident in the stage. The crew had to retire in the opening round of FIA Middle East Rally Championship due to heavy damages in their Skoda Fabia R5.
Khalid Al-Suwaidi completed the Rally GB in 10th position in WRC2 and have his first point for the championship. The rally took place in Wales under rainy and slippery conditions. Despite having a puncture and loosing 4 minutes on the first stage, they have completed the day in 14th place. They kept their pace for the second day and with a maximum attack on third day, they finished the rally in 10th position and took the points.
The last leg for FIA MERC has been completed with the Cyprus Rally. Toksport WRT drivers Khalid Al-Suwaidi and Mustafa Bulutoglulari had to retire and Abdullah Al-Kuwari finished the race 29th overall among 47 cars. Khalid Al-Suwaidi forced to retire after stage 2 with an engine problem after a long jump and a damage to radiator. Mustafa Bulutoglulari retired after stage 9 with a roll.
Qatari driver Khalid AlSuwaidi, is competing in the fifth round of FIA World Rally Championship, Rally de Portugal in his TOKSPORT WRT prepared Ford Fiesta R5. Khalid AlSuwaidi – Marshall Clarke who is competing in FIA Middle East Rally Championship this season, will be starting to their third WRC rally of the season with TOKSPORT WRT. Sponsored by Culture & Sport Qatar Rally Team, the duo is aiming a podium result in WRC2 class. Rally de Portugal will start on 19 May Thursday and in the next four days the teams will cover 1684km in total where 368km is special stages.
Qatari driver Khalid Al-Suwaidi and his co-driver Giovanni Bernacchini participated to the first round of Middle East Rally Championship, International Qatar Rally with Ford Fiesta R5 of TOKSPORT WRT.The crew, sponsored by Culture & Sport Qatar Rally Team had a test before the rally to find the right set-ups and choose the best tyres for the tough gravel stages. Only 7 drivers could finish the 13 special stages covering 241km in a total route of 535km. Khalid Al-Suwaidi won 3 stages with a great performance. Qatari driver finished in the 2nd place in overall classification and had a succesful start to the new season. The following event of Middle East Rally Championship will be kicked of on 14-16 March, in Kuwait.
The opening round of FIA Middle East Rally Championship (MERC) Qatar International Rally will take place in the gravel stages of Qatar on 4th-6th February. Qatar International Rally will be runned in 13 special stages covering 241km in a total route of 535km. TOKSPORT WRT is taking part with 4 crews in the rally. Turkish drivers Yigit Timur – Ufuk Uluocak and Vedat\ Diker – Erdal Oral will be competing with Mitsubishi Lancer EVOX of TOKSPORT WRT. Qatari driver Khalid El Suwaidi and his co-driver Giovanni Bernacchini is attending to the rally with Ford Fiesta R5 in the sponsorhip of Culture AMD Sport Qatar Rally Team. Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X of Abdulla Al Kuwari – Adhil Husain will be runned buy TOKSPORT WRT. The crew is sponsored by Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation. TOKSPORT WRT targets to dominate the rally and take the lead of group N class.
Toksport WRT had participated ”Bosphorus Rally”, the 6th leg of European Rally Trophy, last weekend with 2 cars in total. Khalid Al-Suwaidi & John Higgins sponsored by ”Qatar Youth&Sport Ministries”, had driven the Ford Fiesta RRC of Toksport WRT and Menderes Okur & Bora Arabaci in GR.N class with a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9. Menderes Okur & Bora Arabaci found a good pace and managed to finish the rally in 1st place in Gr.N class and 4th place in overall, without any problem. Our crew gained valuable points for the championship and sustaining their assertion for winning their class this season.Qatari driver Khalid Al-Suwaidi and his Irish co-driver John Higgins had participated Bosphorus Rally as a test race before the second half of Middle-East Rally Championship. Crew damaged the rear-right wheel and had broken the toe arm in the 5th special stage on saturday. On sunday, crew continued the rally by super rally regulations, but in the 2nd special stage of the day, they went off the road and couldn’t managed to get back and retired. Our following race will be kicked off between 3-6 September in Lebanon.
