TOKSPORT WRT won the T2 class in FIA World Cross Country Championship, the fifth round of the championship Baja Aragon in Spain. Qatari pilot Adel Hussein Abdulla and his French co pilot Jean-Michel Polato drove their Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) and Nissan Middle East sponsored Nissan Patrol Y62 to victory after 3 days of highly competetive race. This victory has brought them one step closer to championship title.
TOKSPORT WRT drivers Menderes Okur & Bora Arabacı won the Group N class in the fourth round of Turkish Rally Championship, 41. Green Bursa Rally.The Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX pair has competed in the gruelling gravel stages for two days. After the first three stages on day one, Menderes Okur topped the timehseets in the class and kept his lead till to the end of the rally to claim the winners spot.
TOKSPORT WRT is participating with two crews in the 8th round of FIA World Rally Championship, 2016 Rally Finland which is held between 28 and 31 July.
Former Skoda WRC driver Janne Tuohino and his long time co driver Markku Tuohino will be driving TOKSPORT WRT’s Ford Fiesta R5. Veteran Finnish pilot will be competing in WRC2 category. Matti Koskelo and Rami Suorsa will be driving team’s other car Ford Fiesta RS WRC in RC1 class
The teams will be covering 334 km of special stages, 1370 km in total in Rally Finland which is known as Gravel Grand Prix, the fastest gravel rally on earth. Teams will be competing in 24 special stages in 4 days rally starting on Thursday. Finnish drivers’ dominance in the rally still continues since the first rally which was held in 1951. There are 54 victories by Finnish drivers in the last 65 years.
The only Turkish team competing in World Rally Championship, TOKSPORT WRT is aiming for success with their local drivers in this weekend’s Rally Finland.
TOKSPORT WRT drivers Mustafa Bulutoğulları-Ahmet Özerdem have finished second overall with a 0.8 second gap to the winner the third round of Northern Cyprus Rally Championship, Famagusta Hendek Rally. The other TOKSPORT WRT team racing in their Ford Fiesta R2 Bora Manyera-Deniz Fahri have finished the rally as class A6 winner.
A blown tyre has caused valuable time loss to Mustafa Bulutoğulları in this sprint rally where the teams drove the Hendek stage twice. The duo of Bulutoğulları-Özerdem racing in Ford Fiesta RS WRC tried to close the gap in the second run of the stage however that was not enough to win the rally. TOKSPORT WRT drivers who lost the rally with only 0.8 second are one of the top title contenders of the championship. The winner of the two wheel category was Bora Manyeri. Ford Fiesta R2 drivers Manyera and Fahri finished the rally a minute ahead of their closest rivals and completed the rally as class A6 winner.
The fourth round of the Northern Cyprus Rally Championship will continue on 2-3 July.
In the highly competitive third round of Turkish National Rally Championship, TOKSPORT WRT completed the race on podium.
In two day long and 104 km event, 48 crews have started and competed in eight special stages. TOKSPORT WRT drivers Menderes Okur – Bora Arabaci finished third in Group N class in their Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX. The race to the top spot of the Group N classification has continued till to the last special stage of the rally. Okur one of the top contenders of the Group N title for the season has earned valuable additional points by completing the extra point bonus stage of the rally in third place.
Castrol Ford Team Turkey drivers Murat Bostancı and Onur Vatansever have finished the rally in second overall position in their Ford Fiesta R5 runned by TOKSPORT WRT. In his second gravel rally in Fiesta R5, Bostancı has completed the extra point bonus stage in second position and earned valuable points in his title race for the championship. Last year’s European Rally Cup Champion Bostanci is leading the overall classification after Kocaeli Rally.
Turkish Rally Championship will continue on 23 – 24 July in Rally of Green Bursa.
Qatari driver Khalid AlSuwaidi, is competing in the fifth round of FIA World Rally Championship, Rally de Portugal in his TOKSPORT WRT prepared Ford Fiesta R5. Khalid AlSuwaidi – Marshall Clarke who is competing in FIA Middle East Rally Championship this season, will be starting to their third WRC rally of the season with TOKSPORT WRT. Sponsored by Culture & Sport Qatar Rally Team, the duo is aiming a podium result in WRC2 class. Rally de Portugal will start on 19 May Thursday and in the next four days the teams will cover 1684km in total where 368km is special stages.

The rally organised by Northen Cyprus Touring and Automobile Club (KKTOK) in the honour of late Ahmet Şevketoğlu has started with the super special stage in Cemsa Karting Circuit. Racing with TOKSPORT WRT’s Ford Fiesta RS WRC Mustafa Bulutoğulları has completed the first stage with the best time of 03:49:731 which had a slippery surface due to earlier rain. Second day of the rally had 7 seven special stages with a total of 65 kilometer. Mustafa Bulutoğulları kept his lead all day and finished the rally as the outright winner even though it was his first rally in his new car. The winner duo also completed the 10,70 km power stage with the best time and added another three points into overall classification.
TOKSPORT WRT drivers Mustafa Bulutoğulları – Ahmet Özerdem are holding a strong position in the highly competitive Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Rally Championship after their recent victory. The championship will continue with the third round on 11 – 12 June.
Qatari driver Khalid Al-Suwaidi and his co-driver Giovanni Bernacchini participated to the first round of Middle East Rally Championship, International Qatar Rally with Ford Fiesta R5 of TOKSPORT WRT.The crew, sponsored by Culture & Sport Qatar Rally Team had a test before the rally to find the right set-ups and choose the best tyres for the tough gravel stages. Only 7 drivers could finish the 13 special stages covering 241km in a total route of 535km. Khalid Al-Suwaidi won 3 stages with a great performance. Qatari driver finished in the 2nd place in overall classification and had a succesful start to the new season. The following event of Middle East Rally Championship will be kicked of on 14-16 March, in Kuwait.
The opening round of FIA Middle East Rally Championship (MERC) Qatar International Rally will take place in the gravel stages of Qatar on 4th-6th February. Qatar International Rally will be runned in 13 special stages covering 241km in a total route of 535km. TOKSPORT WRT is taking part with 4 crews in the rally. Turkish drivers Yigit Timur – Ufuk Uluocak and Vedat\ Diker – Erdal Oral will be competing with Mitsubishi Lancer EVOX of TOKSPORT WRT. Qatari driver Khalid El Suwaidi and his co-driver Giovanni Bernacchini is attending to the rally with Ford Fiesta R5 in the sponsorhip of Culture AMD Sport Qatar Rally Team. Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X of Abdulla Al Kuwari – Adhil Husain will be runned buy TOKSPORT WRT. The crew is sponsored by Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation. TOKSPORT WRT targets to dominate the rally and take the lead of group N class.
The opening round of Finland national rally championship 50th Arctic Lapland Rally, organised on 29-30th of January. Finnish drivers Matti Koskelo #2 and Kimmo Kurkela #3 participated in the rally with Ford Fiesta RS WRC of Toksport WRT.
The crews had a test before the rally to get used to Ford Fiesta RS WRC and to find the right set-ups. In the first day after 5 stages Kimmo Kurkela took the final spot on the podium and Matti Koskelo took 8th overall. In the first stage of the second day, Matti had an off which costed him 5 minutes. On the other hand, Kimmo took the best time of 2 stages while he was was getting used to the car and tough stages. However in the penultimate stage of the rally, he hit a snowbank and lost 10 minutes which costed him the last place of the podium. Kimmo was the fourth fastest in the last stage but it wasn’t enough for him to catch the podium. Jarkko Nikara was leading the rally in overall until he had an off in the last stage. TOKSPORT WRT driver Kimmo Kurkela missed a possibble podium chance but finished in the first place in class 7. The other driver of the team Matti Koskelo also hit a snowbank in the last stage and because of being late to TC he couldn’t take part in the classification.
The upcoming event for the team is the first round of Middle East Rally Championship (MERC) International Qatar Rally between 4-6th February. TOKSPORT WRT will be taking part as the only Turkish team in this rally and they are running twoTurkish drivers for the “Group N Champion” title.
