Toksport WRT drivers Orhan Avcioglu-Burcin Korkmaz are going to be the first Turkish crew to compete in WRC2 category driving a Skoda Fabia R5. The current program includes Rally RACC Catalunya between 5th and 8th October and Wales Rally GB between 26-29 October.
Ever since the foundation, Toksport WRT, who successfully represents Turkey in the global motorsport arena, is leading the way once again. Orhan Avcioglu will be the first Turkish rally driver to participate in the WRC2 category of the World Rally Championship which is one of the most prestigious events in motorsports. Orhan Avcioglu and his co-driver Burçin Korkmaz will drive Skoda Fabia R5 rally car in RallyRACC Catalunya which will take place in Spain between 5th and 8th of October. All preparations are finished for the rally which has both gravel and tarmac stages, Orhan Avcioglu and Toksport WRT is looking forward to the experience and the feedback they are hoping to collect over the weekend and move them to the future races in the WRC category.
For this important step, Orhan Avcioglu states “Our WRC2 program consists of RallyRACC Catalunya and Wales Rally GB. The WRC2 class stands out for being the most competitive category for R5 cars. This will be my first time competing in Spain and GB, as well as my first time driving the Skoda Fabia R5. Our goal for 2018 is to compete in full WRC2 campaign. Therefore we plan to take this opportunity to gain some experience and prepare in the best possible way for 2018 and beyond.”
Toksport WRT drivers Orhan Avcioglu and Burcin Korkmaz climbed to leadership at Balkan Rally Tropy after winning the Serbia Rally. After a 2 day battle with Plamen Staykov , Orhan made an enough gap before the last stage for winning the rally. Toksport WRT drivers for Group N, Menderes Okur and Ufuk Uluocak also made a good job and completed second in European Rally Trophy and finished 9th overall in Rally Serbia.
Toksport WRT drivers have achieved significant success at the Sliven Rally, the fifth leg of the Balkan Rally Trophy . Orhan Avcioglu-Burçin Korkmaz won the second prize in the general classification and increased their claim in the championship.
After the race, Orhan Avcioglu said, “We have got good points for the Balkan Rally Trophy and we continue to be in a good situation. The whole race was a real solid fight for the first three drivers. ” saying that his goal for the Serbian Rally was a podium.
The Serbian Rally, the 6th leg of the Balkan Rally Trophy will take place between September 22nd and 24th in tarmac roads in the Uzice region in western Serbia.
Gilbert Bannout and Maxime Vilmot have finished the 2017 Rally of Lebanon in second overall in Skoda Fabia R5 run by Toksport WRT . After a 3 day challenging competition in Lebanon heat, the duo has completed the race on the podium and dedicated their performance to Gilbert’s former co-driver Sabrina de Castelli.
Toksport WRT drivers Menderes Okur and Ufuk Uluocak wins Group N in their Mitsubishi Evo IX at 42nd Yesil Bursa Rally. They led the Group N category from the beginning of the rally and finished on the top in his class. Orhan Avcioglu and Burcin Korkmaz retired in their Ford Fiesta R5 with an engine failure in the first stage of the rally. The exhaust manifold was broken and as a result, they lost the power and had to retire.
Ugur Soylu and Aras Dincer had their first rally at German Rally Championship with Skoda Fabia R5. The duo aimed to have more experience on tarmac stages and they get used to Skoda Fabia R5 in the fast stages of the rally. They had a smooth weekend without any major problem and completed the rally 15th overall.
A challenging start did not stop Avcioglu / Korkmaz duo to be on the podium at the end of the Arad Rally. The duo struggled in a dust wall at the first stages in the first day and lost valuable times. They started the second day as 5th overall. With a good pace, they gained 2 positions and completed the rally on podium 3rd overall.
Toksport WRT drivers Orhan Avcioglu and Burçin Korkmaz claimed their first victory at Ege Rally in the opening round of Turkish Rally Championship. The duo completed the rally with a gap of 1 minute 16 seconds to their closest rival. Toksport WRT Group N drivers Menderes Okur and Ufuk Uluocak missed the podium chance just by 0.1 seconds and completed the rally 4th in Group N and 10th overall.
Toksport WRT signed with Orhan Avcioglu and Burcin Korkmaz for 2017 Turkish Rally Championship. The duo will be aiming the title of 2017 season under Toksport WRT colours.

After a higly competitive first day in Qatar, Khalid Al-Suwaidi and his co-driver Marshall Clarke ended the second day in huge disappointment with an accident in the stage. The crew had to retire in the opening round of FIA Middle East Rally Championship due to heavy damages in their Skoda Fabia R5.
