Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland 2018 Champion Berkay Besler will be competing in Porsche BWT GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East. It will be a good training for him to get prepared for the upcoming 2019 season. Ever since its inaugural season in 2009/2010 the GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East is offering an ideal platform for the Arab world’s most promising circuit racing drivers to broaden their racing experience on the region’s most appealing race tracks.

Henning Solberg and His Co-driver Ilka Minor completed 6th in WRC2 class at 54th RallyRACC. It was the first tarmac event for Henning after 6 years but he kept his pace even on slippery tarmac despite the rain on second day. The Norwegian driver completed the rally 17th overall and 6th in WRC2. The next rally of Solberg-Minor duo will be WRC Rally Sweden 2019
Berkay Besler celebrated his overall championship for The Porsche Sports Cup Germany in Hockenheimring. The great season finale took place in Baden-Wuerttemberg with more than 220 participants. Besler showed an impressive performance and got both race wins in Super Sports Cup. Unfortunately this performance did not help him to crown the title by his own and he completed the season 2nd in Super Sports Cup by 5,8 points. In the endurance series he won both races in his class and secured the title for 5f class for 2018. With all the points collected through out the year, Berkay Besler’s crowned the overall champion of Porsche Sports Cup Deutschland for 2018.
Chris Ingram-Ross Whittock duo is P2 overall on the final round of the ERC in Latvia. Despite his illness throughout the season, it is a great success to finalize the season in P2 in the U28 FIA European Rally Championship. Chris Ingram said, “So proud of our development through the year, hopefully we can return with a year of 4WD experience. Massive thanks to everyone who supported us”
Team’s second crew Orhan Avcioglu-Burcin Korkmaz was 8th overall at the end of the rally and by this result they have completed the season in 16 th position. Avcioglu said “it was a very positive season for us, thanks for support of our team, our families, of everyone. Hopefully, we´ll come back and next time we´ll do better”
The penultimate round of FIA ERC took place in Poland. Chris Ingram had his first international overall podium after the succesfull WRC Rally Turkey. After a 2 days long battle Ingram managed to finish the race in P3 overall. He said ” It’s amazing weekend, it’s our first international podium. We learned so much, we started from tenth place but we improved all the rally.” Orhan-Burcin duo was P11 after the last stage. He said he was happy to find the right setup for the car for next year.
The final round of the FIA ERC will be in Latvia at 12th of October.
Henning Solberg and co-driver Ilka Minor drove their Skoda Fabia R5 to a sensational sixth place in the overall classification and won RC2 group. Chris Ingram/Ross Whittock due who made their WRC2 debut conquered third place of the WRC 2 category and finished in ninth position overall. By this result, Henning has the best result for Skoda Fabia R5 so far.
The Porsche Sports Cup completed its third race weekend of the season at the Nürburgring. Exciting races , more than 190 participants in the six racing series and driving events, and many visitors in the paddock caused a stir in the Eifel.
In the Sunday race of the Porsche Super Sports Cup, Berkay Besler celebrated his first victory of the season in the 991 GT3 Cup. The Toksport WRT driver drove a superb race at the top and was the first to be dismissed with a clear lead. On Saturdays the rainy weather demanded everything from the drivers. Shortly before the race started rain, so the start behind the Safetycar took place. As the rain increased significantly, some riders slipped off the rainy track. Thus, the Safetycar moved out again before the race management then prematurely ended the race for safety reasons with the red flag. Besler won the cup classification.
Chris Ingram bounced back from his illness-enforced Rally Islas Canarias exit in style with a strong second place in the FIA ERC Junior Under 28 Championship on Rally di Roma Capitale last weekend.
Ingram started Rally Islas Canarias on a high after winning his category on the season-opening Azores Airlines Rallye only to pull out in the early stages in Gran Canaria after feeling unwell.
But following a period of treatment and recuperation, Ingram was back in action in Italy for what was his first major event on Tarmac in the ŠKODA Fabia R5 he shares with co-driver and fellow Briton Ross Whittock.
As well as finishing runner-up in ERC Junior Under 28, Ingram clocked his first outright stage win in the FIA European Rally Championship.
“I’m really happy and winning a stage outright is definitely a massive boost up against some proper rallying legends,” said Ingram, the 2017 ERC Junior Under 27 champion. “The competition has been the best I’ve ever faced, not just from the local guys but Alexey Lukyanuk, Nikolay Gryazin, so many fast drivers were here.
“I thought it was all over when we hit that rock on Saturday and got the puncture because it was a really heavy impact and the steering was out after that. It’s a miracle we didn’t have the biggest crash ever because the boulder was the size of a dog.
“We’ve shown some really promising speed so massive thanks to the team. I’m looking forward to see what the future brings in this car and with this team. We’ve got some really important points for the championship, now for a big attack in Barum.”
Toksport WRT driver Berkay Besler had 3 podiums at Red Bull Ring in Porsche Sports Cup weekend. The 19-year-old driver managed to be on the podium 3 times out of 4 races. In Endurance Races, he had 2nd overall position and 1 win and one 3rd position in his class. In Super Sports Cup 2nd race, he had to retire due to an accident but he got the 2nd overall in the first race. With these results, Berkay is now 2nd in the Endurance championship.
Larnaca based Rally Cyprus took place on the winding roads of the nearby mountains of Troödos. Orhan Avcioglu and Burcin Korkmaz duo took their best result so far in FIA ERC and completed the rally in 5th position. The Cyprus Rally has been a mixed surface event combining both gravel and asphalt stages. On Friday, June 15, the ceremonial took place in the Finikoudes beachfront and the crews started this tough rally. Orhan Avcioglu said” I am very happy to finish this tough rally in 5th position and have valuable points for the championship” The next rally of the championship will be in Italy at Rally Roma.
